Let me see if I may address some of your concerns as well, Ms Jenneth.
The name. Sansha's Nation. Kuvakei. True Slaves. All inspire horror and revulsion as things stand, I suppose, for most people. On the surface it would seem insane that we would take up that mantle. Yet we do. Why?
Would you have us, Ms Jenneth, plunder his ideals, his dream, and take no responsibility for its history? Steal the dream of a better human society, and leave the poor slaves to rot in Stain and Esoteria? We stand with the banner of the Nation above us because we know that it is all of a whole. That for the future to be better, the past must be addressed. Not run from - as you seem to think it should be. We proclaim we support the Nation. A New Nation, and so accept the tasks of righting the mistakes of the Old Nation. Freeing the Relics. Breaking the melt-glass covering the planets. Repairing the cities, and ensuring that the same mistakes aren't repeated.
that is the reason we cling to the name, Ms Jenneth. With our support of these ideas, with the opportunity it promises, comes the necessity that we remedy the past. So that one day, instead of revulsion, you will hear Hope when people say 'Sansha,' when people say 'Esoteria,' when people speak of 'The Nation' and look to stars far from their homelands for a better future.
I think it is working, as well, Ms Jenneth. You see the podders who have come to the cause? Who see where the future could lie? You say I have associates who are difficult for our image, but the truth is that the universe is a hard place. We take allies where we can get them, and we - all podders - can hardly argue about who has more blood on their hands.
The truth is, I see these newest additions to our ranks, and I feel hope. Hope because they are a kinder face of the Nation. Hope because they haven't been forced to the extremes we have. Hope that a future for the Nation is possible, and that indeed it is upon us already. I look at the likes of White Rose, TSF, Tomorrowland Orphanage, and I realize that we have a chance to one day be a place people aspire to instead of fear. I wish only that you could see it too.
Hope seems to be something you, yourself are always leaving behind Ms Jenneth. You have my sympathy and my prayers.
